Google News Showcase

Computec Media, a subsidary of Marquard Group, is part of the small selection of hand-picked publishers in Germany who are part of the world premiere of the new Google product News Showcase. Along with such well-known brands as DER SPIEGEL, DIE ZEIT and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Computec Media contributes content from its premium brands PCGH, PC Games and Golem.de. 

With Google News Showcase, Google wants to support high-quality journalism from leading media companies and has provided around 855 million euros in the first three years to license the necessary content.  

News Showcase consists of so-called Story Panels in Google News on Android devices, which will later be shown in Google Discover, Google News on iOS and Google Search. The articles shown in Google News Showcase are being prepared and updated daily by several dedicated editorial staff members since September 2020. 

For News Showcase, Google also has the exclusive opportunity to show selected PCGH premium articles for free to its users, for example especially high-quality technology and hardware articles. As a result of this partnership Computec Media gains an even wider audience, higher brand awareness, and brand value.
